WSRC XII

The World Soybean Research Conference (WSRC) is the leading international forum dedicated to research and development across the global soybean value chain.

Recognized by specialists worldwide as "The Soybean World Conference," the WSRC brings together researchers, academics, industry leaders, and key figures from all five continents to share scientific advances, exchange knowledge, and promote international cooperation.

Since its first edition in 1975, the conference has been held in various countries, establishing itself as the benchmark forum for addressing the challenges and opportunities of one of the most important crops for food, the bioeconomy, and sustainable development.

WSRC IV 1989 | Buenos Aires, Argentine

In 1989, the IV World Soybean Research Conference was held, for the first time, outside the United States.

In an historical opportunity the headquarters was Argentina. From 5 to 9 March 1989 at the Sheraton Hotel in Buenos Aires, a world-class scientific event was held, taking into account the foreign and national figures who participated in the Conference. The organization was in charge of the Argentine Soybean Association and the Buenos Aires Board of Trade. The Argentine Soybean Chain was not yet formally constituted. 

By then, Argentina was occupying the 4th place in the world production of Soy. In the last 20 years, it had grown from 20,000 hectares of cultivated land with a production of 20 tons to reach 10 million tons as a result of the expansion of the planted area and the stability of average yields per hectare.

The opening ceremony was attended by President-elect Dr. Ricardo Alfonsín (Argentina was going through its first democratic period after a de facto government) held in the Trading Room of the Buenos Aires Board of Trade.

WSRC XII 2027 | Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentine

In April 2027, Rosario will host the World Soybean Research Conference XII (WSRC XII), the world's most important scientific and technical gathering dedicated to soybeans.

Under the theme "Building Innovations in the Soybean Universe," the conference will take place from April 4 to 7, 2027, with an opening ceremony scheduled for the afternoon of April 4. As a complement to the main program, technical visits to fields, educational and research institutions, and agro-industrial facilities in the region will be conducted on April 8 and 9.

WSRC XII 2027 will bring together the entire global soybean value chain in one place, offering a unique opportunity to share knowledge, forge strategic partnerships, and learn about the latest innovations in the sector.

The program will include plenary lectures, forums, and workshops on key topics such as: Germplasm, Soybean Breeding, Biotechnology, Bio-inputs, Plant Health, Plant Nutrition, Mechanization, Country reports, Competitiveness, Logistics, Bioeconomy, Forage, Food, Feed & Nutrition, Industrialization, Sustainability, Agroclimatic Risk, Crop Management, Education in Agriculture and Innovation, Certification, Trading & Markets , etc.

A meeting point for industry leaders 

The conference will feature the participation of leading figures from the academic, scientific, technological, production, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Over four days of exchange and updates, key players in the soybean value chain will share knowledge, experiences, and perspectives to address the major challenges and opportunities for soybeans globally.
